Laura Harbour Scott Foundation

Laura Harbour Scott passed away from metastatic breast cancer after a 5 year courageous battle at the age of 38 on March 3, 2015 leaving behind her husband, Jeremy, their 2 young girls, Lauren (9) and Claire (7), mother, father, sister, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and countless aunts, uncles and friends. Laura was a fearless warrior and her positive spirit touched everyone she came in contact with.

Our family had each said that we wanted to do something that Lauren, Claire, neices and nephews could participate in annually to honor their mother and aunt. We didn't want to collect donations for a non-profit but actually do something. This is when the yellow blanket campaign came to mind. We were inspired from heaven - yellow was Laura's favorite color. We remember sitting with Laura in the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer infusion center during one of her treatments and it was chilly - and we weren't the one receiving fluids into out bodies - which makes you even colder. What better way to honor Laura's compassionate, loving, hopeful nature than to provide comfort to those undergoing chemo and treatments at Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center with a yellow blanket.
